Type of stimulationThe stimulation is performed using energy controlled generators of symmetric bi-phase impulse.
The stimulating electrodes can be of endo-cavity type (vaginal and anal probes), or surface one.
The dedicated probes supplied with the system allow also a perineal cavity side differentiated stimulated, with unparalleled effect in treating asymmetric pathologies like the episiotomy effect.
EMG and pressure section tech spec
The EMG recording is performed through an optic isolated amplified EMG sensor, for artifact immunity.
Each EMG sensor is composed by:
Differential Amplifier, Band filtering in range8-1000 Hz, CMRR Notch Filter (50 Hz), envelope extraction stage, butterworth filterring stage and a precision reference generator.
The final signal sensibility is 0.1uV with typical noise less than 0.1uV. The pressure transducer sensibility is 1 cmH2O with variable end scale from 5 to 300 cmH2O.
Description of Probes
Pelvvy Tutor probes are mono-patient, manufactured in medical soft PVC with golden plated electrodes.
The patented probe is composed by 4 saddle shape electrodes displaced in radial position on the PVC empty body, allowing contemporarily bilateral differentiated stimulation and pressure recording (unique in the market) or altenatively the left/right EMG perineal activity recording together with pressure. Special vaginal probe characterized by double- circuit detection / stimulation through 4 radial electrodes. It's a special probe, specially developed for the Pelvy Tutor unit, used in rehabilitation of urinary incontinence and characterized by the ability to detect EMG signals or manage differentiated electrical stimulation (right/left side) and simultaneously detect the force exerted by the whole pelvic floor muscle. The probe must be used with the Pelvy Tutor WPU (Wireless Patient Unit).

Pelvy Tutor allows two main signal recordings setup, the first is the recording of 2 internal EMG and one cavity pressure signal, related to the perineal muscular tone; the second is the recording if one global cavity EMG, one external EMG (needed for inverted command dysfunction treatment) and one cavity pressure.
Protocols
Pelvy Tutor has 30 preset protocols for the treatment of stress incontinence, urge and mixed incontinencs with electrostimulation; hundreds of customized programs of stimulation can be made and memorized. It also has 30 preset protocols of biofeedback, with possibility of customization for storage(memorization. Pelvy Tutor standard version has 2 stimulation channels and 3 biofeedback channels.
Special Pelvy Tutor features are:
- the special dimensions of the base unit, worn by the patient; - "Wireless" Bluetooth communication with the host PC;
- use of special vaginal/anal probes capable of selective and contemporary detection of 2 EMG and 1 pressure channels, or electro-differentiated bilateral and simultaneous pressure detection.
The new urogynecological /proctological unit allows to:
- Surface electrostimulation on 2 distinct channels (extendable to 4 channels);
- detection of EMG surface on 2 separate channels (right/left side), can be extended to 4 channels (optional);
- pressure detection at the same time to EMG or electrical stimulation.
Pelvy Tutor Urogynecology/Proctology Unit
- Acquisition unit, self powered , wearable by the patient, including the acquisition system itself (electronic cards for signal acquisition and processing into digital code, the stages for stimulation (2 standard optionally expandableto 4), EMG sensors (2 standard, expandable to 4), pressure transducers.
- Vaginal/Anal special probe with dual circuit for electrical stimulation or EMG detection and pneumatic chanmber for pressure detection.
Acquisition unit in the basic configuration in cludes the following transducers:
- N°1 pressure transducer, integrated in basic unit;
- N°2 EMG (electroyographic) sensors, integrated and optoisolated.
Pelvy Tutor base unit comes complete with specific software for submission, processing, data storage and trace visualization acquisred during therapeutic session.
